Shabbat Services

Shabbat services are held Friday evenings at 7:30 p.m. to encourage attendance by children. Tot Shabbat, a program
of supervised, quiet play for children ages 3 to 8 is held simultaneously the first Friday of each month. As a Reform congregation belonging to the Union of American Hebrew Congregations (UAHC), women and men actively participate equally in all facets of religious life.

Services are followed by Oneg Shabbat, a social gathering offering refreshments and warm fellowship - a time to see old friends and make new ones.

Four times a year the rabbi conducts an early evening Shabbat service especially tailored to toddlers and their parents, followed by an adult-oriented service.

Saturday mornings during the school year there is a brief morning service at 9:00 A.M. conducted by the B'nai Mitzvah class. When a Bar/Bat Mitzvah is scheduled, services are at 10:00 A.M. The Torah is read at evening and morning services so that worshippers at both services may benefit from its teachings.

You are invited to come experience for yourself the delight of Shabbat services at JFC.
